The Avon Foundation recently added some important new features to its fight against domestic violence. The Foundation has created the "Speak Out Against Domestic Violence" Bracelet -- a simple but effective statement. With the Bracelet, Customers can demonstrate their opposition to domestic violence, and also support the cause financially: $2 of the $3 (+ S&H) price, representing 100% of the net proceeds, goes to The Foundation's anti-domestic violence efforts. The Bracelet has already been featured on NBC's Today Show.

The Foundation has also created new, free publications to help women break the cycle of violence. In addition to the informational "Speak Out Against Domestic Violence" brochure, The Avon Foundation has created Connect, an educational magazine that helps adults talk to kids about domestic violence, teen dating violence, and violence against women. Connect features articles and stories that identify warning signs in your children and suggest ways to discuss the issues with them.

We need your help to stop this cycle of abuse. Our children need to learn how to show respect for each other and themselves. Once it starts, it is hard to get out of.  I know because I’ve been there!

After 16 years of stalking, threatening, and downright abuse, my suffering is over. He passed away this past April, but I am still looking over my shoulder waiting for the next attack.

We need to work together to help the next generation avoid what we have had to endure.
